Every stock quote answers six questions. Price is the last traded value - history, not a promise. Day change (points and percent) tells today's sentiment; check whether it moved with the index or against it.
Volume validates the move: big price change on thin volume is noise, on heavy volume it is institutional conviction. Compare today's volume with the 20-day average before reacting.
The 52-week high/low frames the price - near highs means momentum with overhead supply; near lows means either turnaround or terminal decline. Volume decides which.
P/E and market cap add valuation and size: a Rs 200 stock can be 'bigger' and pricier than a Rs 2,000 one. Learn both in our P/E and market-cap guides.
Do this now: open any holding in your watchlist and read all six fields aloud. If any number confuses you, tap through to its glossary page - that gap is your next lesson.
